Shape Update: ‘Polymer’ Receives iPad Support

Polymer, a puzzle game from iOS developer Whitaker Trebella has received its first big update – and what an update it is!

Polymer, as stated in the iTunes store, is “a strategic shape-creating game that combines the logic of Rubik’s Cube, the sliding mechanism of Chuzzle, and the creativity of Lego.” Sounds good, doesn’t it?

Version 2.0, the free update to the game, boasts a universal update for both normal and The New iPad (and it does look stunning on the iPad’s retina display) meaning that iPad users can join the party. New modes include multiplayer with up to four Game Center friends all using the same grid for maximum fairness along with new five and and minute modes – variations on the pre-existing two minute mode.

“In this new mode, players will have two minutes to create the best polymer possible. The goal is to make a polymer larger and worth more points than your opponents. Up to four players can participate in one game at a time and all will be working off the same board to ensure fairness and the same chance
of success.”

With the new update you can sync your game – unlocks, high scores and best polymers – across all of your iDevices via Apple’s iCloud. The icon will also get a nice matte finish and the settings icon will be moved to the top of the screen. As a final touch, pressing and holding a polymer will now display its score before being destroyed.

More information on Polymer is available on the , where it can also be downloaded, universal for iPhone and iPad for $1.99.
